The first patients to be treated for video game addiction are as young as 12. Following the World Health Organization’s official inclusion of video game addiction as a mental disorder, the NHS has identified potential patients that range in age from 12-to-20-years-old. They’ve demonstrated that their personal lives and relationships are impacted, and according to one doctor, “They are different to gamblers or alcoholics. It's a younger generation…” (Telegraph)
