Hasbro’s last earnings report went unexpectedly well, thanks in part to Dungeons and Dragons. The toy giant’s sales declined 7% overall, less than many investors feared. Hasbro’s CEO says that nostalgic games like Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: The Gathering are buoying their performance, with the former reportedly having “its best year ever.” Hasbro is planning a crossover of the two to spark Millennial geeks’ interest and thinks there is potential for game-based esports competitions.
