Subscription boxes are struggling, and Stitch Fix is hoping to “avoid the pitfalls” by expanding into kids’ clothing. Stitch Fix Kids will offer a monthly delivery of customized kids’ apparel, including their own line Rumi + Ryder, “competing directly with established brands.” The clothing service’s shares spiked 10% after announcing the move, an indicator that their 2.7 million-strong customer base will continue to grow. That number is already up 30% over last year, at a time when services like Loot Crate, Birchbox, and Blue Apron have been faltering. (LATimes)
