VidCon is cutting creators a break by offering $2,000 grants to 52 rising stars. The Viacom-owned conference all about online video is looking for underdogs who have posted content at least twice a month for the past six months to their blog or social media platforms, typically earning fewer than 150,000 views. The VidCon Creator Grant Program is meant to “help creators who are making content for underserved audiences, building strong communities, educating people, or just making them smile,” according to VidCon’s co-founder.
