Party City is debuting Toy City stores in the wake of the Toys ‘R’ Us shutdown that shook the internet. Fifty of the new stores will open this year, running as seasonal pop-ups alongside their temporary Halloween City stores. Other companies are looking to capitalize on “the void” Toys ‘R’ Us left behind too. Walmart, Target, Five Below, Barnes & Noble, and KB Toys are all expected to take some of the toy giant’s market share, and experts estimate that over 75% of that share will be “reclaimed” in time.
