Young viewers can’t get enough nostalgia entertainment, so MTV’s decision to launch an entire studio dedicated to dusting off old hits could pay off. MTV Studios is being created to reboot MTV classics, with the aim of selling them to other networks and streaming sites. Daria, The Real World, and Made have made the slate of programs they plan to renew, with more to come. Why are they shopping the series instead of keeping them on MTV? The network has outgrown the nostalgic hits, with one exec explaining that they “wouldn't be a fit on MTV today.” (THR)
