Time spent online will overtake hours watching TV by 2019. Globally, Zenith predicts that the average number of minutes spent each day online will rise to 170.6, just above the 170.3 minutes people will spend watching TV. It will take one more year for the U.S. to catch up, and Ypulse’s media consumption tracker suggests that young people could be responsible for much of the rise. Marketers won’t miss the chance to capitalize: Zenith estimates they’ll spend a full $60 billion more on digital than TV by 2019. (Recode)
