Shake Shack opened a cashless, cashier-less restaurant—and customers weren't happy. The fast food chain replaced cashiers with “hospitality champs” that helped customers order food off of iPads—which only accepted cards. Customers were quick to complain about the cashless system and the confusing ordering process, so Shake Shack is bringing back regular checkouts alongside their digital options. Though 84% of 13-35-year-olds told Ypulse they’re interested in digital or mobile checkouts, it seems that not all customers are ready for the real thing. (Eater)
