Parents are shaming their children on social media via videos, but not considering the potential long-term effects. One Ontario mom made her kids walk seven kilometers to school holding a sign that explained they had been rude to their bus driver—and then posted it all on social media. Reportedly over 30,000 similar videos are on YouTube. One parenting expert calls it “bullying” while a professor of developmental psychology notes that this kind of “psychological control” raises the risk for kids to become anxious or depressed. (CBC)
