Marine Layer is renting out some of its stores as Airbnbs, giving “retail hotel” a whole new meaning. The parameters around retail are getting increasingly blurry as brand affinity-building marketing bleeds into experiences. In this case, the accommodations aren’t even shoppable like similar competitors have created; instead, the locations simply has the brand’s aesthetic.
