Twitch is celebrating Women’s History Month by awarding grants to female gamers. Esports is on the rise, but mainly among men: Ypulse data shows 35% of male 13-35-year-olds watch esports weekly compared to 11% of females, and even fewer compete. Twitch wants to help even the playing field. BroadcastHER grants will award female gamers with $500 to $2000 to go towards competition and technology expenses. The popular platform is also hosting Streams For Dreams, featuring 10 female broadcasters that will encourage donations to the cause. (tubefilter)
