Millennials are opting out of stocks and investing in crypto instead. Only about one-third of Millennials invest in the stock market, compared to about half of Gen X and Baby Boomers according to Bankrate.com. Meanwhile, a survey from Swell Investing shows that, if asked to invest $5,000 in one place, 12% of 18-34-year-olds would choose cryptocurrency; that’s four times as many as 45-54 and 55-64-year-olds. One spokeswoman explained that “Bitcoin’s anti-establishment roots” appeal to post-recession generations. (MarketWatch)
