One rising reason people are getting plastic surgery is to up their selfie game. Fifty-five percent of plastic surgeons saw patients who wanted to go under the knife for better front-facing photos over the past year, up 16% from 2016. The statistics come from The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery—who is keeping an eye on “selfie-awareness” as a “movement [that] is only going to get stronger.” (Refinery29)
