The minds behind Messenger Kids? The Youth Team at Facebook—the most important piece of Facebook’s plan to reach kids and teens that you’ve probably never heard of. The group of “around 100 employees” reportedly formed about a year ago, and have focused on creating products for all the under-13-year-olds who aren’t technically allowed on Facebook or other social media platforms. So far, the team took charge of viral teen app, tbh, and came out with Facebook’s recent polling feature. They’re also doing everything they can to comply with Children’s Online Privacy Protections Act (COPPA) law and address The Privacy Issue. (recode)
