Some college-educated Millennials are reportedly ditching their desks to farm. According to the latest Census of Agriculture from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, “the number of farmers under 35 years old is increasing”—and this trend is happening for only the second time in the last 100 years. Not to mention nearly 70% of the farmers surveyed had a college degree, a higher percentage than the average population. The natural obsession with organic food combined with the rise of farmer’s markets and community supported agriculture participation could be contributing to more Millennials taking up the simple life.
