People aren’t just addicted to their smartphones—they’re more addicted than last year. A study from Deloitte found that the average 18-75-year-old checks their device 47 times per day and younger users (unsurprisingly) do so even more often at 86 times per day, an increase from 82 in 2016. Almost nine in ten respondents admitted to checking their phone within an hour of waking up and going to sleep. But they’re also trying to fight the trend: 47% said “they’re taking actions to reduce the time they spend with their device.” (eMarketer)
