The fashion industry is slowly catching up with the Genreless Generation, with more inclusive runways. Thirty-one runway appearances were made by transgender and non-binary models during New York Fashion Week, more than double February’s spring shows. Altogether, they only amounted to 1.64% of NYFW models, but models like Teddy Quinlivan (who made 11 appearances and came out as transgender via Instagram following NYFW) are giving the industry hope for change. As one editor put it, “the more fashion celebrates the diversity of all of us, the better we all are for it.” (Glossy)
