Snacks are getting an ecommerce boost from Millennials. According to the Fung Global Retail & Tech report, almost 30% of U.S. shoppers are grabbing some of their groceries online, and 61% of them bought snack foods (especially healthy options). Ypulse found three in four Millennials snack in a typical weekday, so it should come as no surprise that the pre-packaged products are trending with digital natives. The category struggling to get clicks? Fresh food. Perishable items are less likely to make it in the virtual cart since shoppers can’t “touch and feel” before buying. (MarketWatch)
