Americans spent almost a billion (that’s billion, with a “b”) hours watching YouTube on Androids this past July, and the platform is “killing it” on mobile. According to App Annie, between July 2016 and July 2017, Android users in the U.S. spent nearly 80% of their total time on top ten streaming apps on YouTube (9.5 billion hours, to be exact). That puts YouTube far ahead of streaming competitors in terms of time spent, but when you look at revenue Netflix and HBO Now are on top, across both iOS and Android. (TechCrunch)
