The U.S. is “losing faith” in college degrees—and fast. Just 49% of all Americans believe a college degree “lead[s] to a good job and higher lifetime earnings,” while 47% disagree, according to a survey from The Wall Street Journal/NBC News. That leaves just a two-point margin between the beliefs, compared to 13 points four years ago. Among 18-34-year-olds (Millennials), the split is starker, with “skeptics outnumber[ing] believers 57% to 39%”—roughly the same as the group’s response four years ago. Some groups that have changed their minds more are rural residents, Republicans, and men. (WSJ)
