To kick off #PSL season, Starbucks livestreamed “an inanimate pumpkin” for the entire three-day-weekend—and, believe it or not, thousands of people tuned in. The pumpkin just sat in a stable doing pumpkin things (meaning nothing), though kittens were released to swarm the stationary squash, and a pumpkin farmer was interviewed. Finally, after 80 hours, fog filled the screen. As it cleared up, more pumpkins had shown up for the “hatching” of the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
