Millennial workers like to message—a lot—with many actually preferring to be fired via text or chat over face-to-face. Cyberlink’s survey shows one in eight Millennial workers would prefer a digital dismissal, compared to just one in 13 overall. Thirty-seven percent of the younger generation said they'd rather shoot off a quick question to their co-workers over text or instant message, and 15% would even “give critical feedback” on those same channels. Ironically, the top “communication pain point” all ages agreed on was the ease of misinterpreting “the tone of emails, IMs, etc.” But IRL or on IM, “you’re fired” is pretty clear. (CNBC)
