First it was avocado toast, and now bachelor parties are being blamed for Millennials’ lack of home-buying savings. According to Zillow (using data from The Knot), Millennials spend an average of $1,532 attending a bachelor party and an average of $1,106 on a bachelorette. They estimate that attending nine of these events in a lifetime costs almost $14,000—about a third of a down payment on a median-value home. Those in wedding parties generally spend even more, potentially eating further into their future-home funds. (Considering the generation has also been criticized for not going out enough, it seems they just can’t win.) (CNBC)
