Target’s tactic to get college kids shopping? Make it as easy as possible. “Shop Now, Pickup Later” means customers can order online and pick up their haul at a designated spot near campus. Target is also opening “smaller-format” stores “right on the edge of campus” and one experimental pop-up shop at UNC. If that’s not convenient enough, they’re partnering up with Gotcha Ride to shuttle students from stores to dorms right around move-in time. By paring down the back-to-school process, they’re hoping to stave off increasing competition from Amazon and other retailers. (StarTribune)
