TRL is returning to MTV, hoping to capitalize on Millennial nostalgia. A studio over Times Square is already being built for the ‘90s and ‘00s show revival, which will feature five hosts to replace Carson Daly, including a rapper and a radio personality. Total Request Live will air in October, starting with an hour slot that will expand if the throwback proves itself and piques the interest of today’s teens. As part of their “strategic pivot,” MTV is also making their “Moonman” a “Moon Person” because, “It could be a man, it could be a woman, it could be transgender, it could be nonconformist.” (Uproxx, Billboard)
