For one small reason, more Millennials are saving for retirement than you may think. Bank of America Merrill Lynch found 82% of 18-34-year-olds are investing in retirement savings accounts, compared to 77% of Gen X and 75% of Boomers. The surprisingly simple reason why? Auto-enrollment. Since employees have to manually opt out, most don’t—in fact, EBN data shows 97% of auto-enrollees stay on. Millennials are getting a head start on one of their biggest financial priorities—whether they mean to or not. (Time)
