Remember classic high school comedies of the ‘80s? They just don’t make them like that anymore—but new production company American High wants to bring the genre back to life for Gen Z. They’re solely dedicated to making a new era of teen films—and even bought a high school to film it all in. The Hangover screenwriter Jeremy Garelick is leading the way, saying their goal is to “fill [the] void” left by “films that inspired [him] to make a lot of terrible decisions in [his] youth” and “pollute the minds of the next generation.” (Jezebel, Deadline)
