BBC is developing interactive smart speaker kids’ content for the voice activated generation. Their iOS prototype asks kids to make animal noises that are recorded and used later in the narrative, and for Amazon Alexa (which cannot record), kids can trigger pre-recorded snippets with their voices throughout the story. The news of BBC’s new digital storytelling initiative comes shortly after the reveal that they’ll be boosting investment in children’s content, especially digital. (DTVE)
