Millennials are watching “traditional” baseball with phones in hand. Nielson found 81% of 18-34-year-olds use their devices while watching live baseball events, compared to 38% of those 55-and-older. Some activities they’re pairing with the pastime? Looking up relevant stats and info, checking fantasy leagues, contacting friends and family, and, of course, tweeting. Last year, the Home Run Derby was tweeted about 306,000 times from 138,000 handles, while the MLB All Star Game garnered 370,000 tweets from 154,000 users. (MediaPost)
