Both Gen Z and Millennials are spending more time with video and social, but Gen Z may be pulling away from other media to do it. A recent study by eMarketer found that while over half of 13-17-year-olds say they’re watching short digital video and spending time on social platforms more than last year, 35% say they’re watching less “regular TV” than a year ago. Meanwhile, almost 40% of Millennials say they’re watching the same amount of regular TV, and 34% say they’re watching more. Ypulse’s Media Consumption Tracker shows that Gen Z is spending the most time watching content on their smartphone weekly, while Millennials report TV as their top screen.
