In other music news, Spotify is edging out YouTube as 16-19-year-olds’ main source for music, according to a U.K. survey from BPI and ERA. For the late teen demo, Spotify scored 53% weekly user penetration compared to YouTube’s 47%. The survey also confirmed some other changes happening in the “streaming revolution”: older teens are more willing to pay for music than other demos, helping to stop piracy, and Gen Z is more likely to listen to single tracks over albums.
