Mark Zuckerberg’s vision for the future of education has kids teaching themselves. The Facebook founder plans on moving most of his company shares into education efforts over time, and envisions a future of collaborative classrooms, where groups of students teach themselves “via software that his company helps build.” Teachers will still be present, but instead of instructing, they’ll be there as “mentors and evaluators.” His dream may be a long way off, but he’s starting by unveiling software to help customize class time by the end of this year.
