Millennials are the largest group of home buyers for the fourth year in a row, NAR reports. Affordability is their top concern, and realtors say they’re financially savvy and aggressive negotiators. Because they’re delaying marriage, they’re seeking their first home later in life and thinking long-term. Despite the myths, Millennials are buying more—and bigger—homes; a recent NAHB survey shows young people born after 1980 want more square footage on average than other generations (almost half want at least four bedrooms!), and highly prize outdoor spaces.
