Millennials have made DIY weddings a major trend—and not just here in the U.S. While weddings in the UK cost “somewhere between a new car and a house deposit,” some couples are opting to throw more budget-friendly affairs. The average cost of engagement rings and wedding dresses is also dropping—almost 20% less is spent on rings than a decade ago, and in only one year, dress prices have fallen 25%. One British boutique owner explains, “In the six years I have been in the industry things have changed massively. Brides have become much more individual in their tastes…now that DIY weddings have become a lot more popular.” (BBC)
