NPR is releasing their first podcast for kids. Wow in the World focuses on science and tech (STEM is ever-popular territory for kids), and will target children 5-12-years-old. Episodes will use kids’ voices in the narrative to make sure the young audience will “feel like they are a part of what they’re listening to,” and, taking cues from successful adult shows, each will focus on unwrapping a mystery. The show is part of the growing trend of kids’ podcasts, something advocates say is long overdue. (NiemanLab)
