FOMO is out, digital minimalism is in. Sixty-five percent of Americans agree that digital cleanses are important for overall health, but less than a third report that they’ve ever truly powered down, spending an average of 118 minutes per day on social media alone. The American Psychological Association emphasizes that “being constantly connected can have a negative impact on both physical and mental health” so it’s no surprise “digital detoxes” to cut down “mental clutter” are gaining popularity among health-conscious Millennials.
