A new poll reports almost 60% of teens have taken a break from social media, and not just because they were grounded. Over half of the breaks reported were voluntary, with the most popular reasons being they felt social media was distracting from work or school and that they wanted to escape the “conflict and drama” on the platforms. Those who didn’t take breaks cited FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) as their top reason to keep logging in, followed by needing social media for school and extracurricular activities. (USA Today)
