Disney is working towards a future of huggable robots. A recently revealed U.S. patent application details the company’s plans for a soft-bodied robot, inspired by “the lovable Big Hero 6 character Baymax.” The application also hints at integrating larger robots into theme parks, where they’ll interact with visitors. At their third-annual Accelerator program, Disney backed Hanson Robotics which is known for creating human-like robots that can portray facial expressions. (Kidscreen)
