This week, a Florida high school’s prom dress code sparked a student protest.

Mar 31 2017

This week, a Florida high school’s prom dress code sparked a student protest. A week before prom, Stanton College Prep posted dress code flyers on their walls with pictures of gowns with “low backs, plunging necklines, and a leg slit” and the caption “Going to Stanton Prom? NO YOU'RE NOT.” Students rebelled by designating one day of their Spirit Week to Women’s Day, wearing hand-made shirts with statements in support of women and calling out the sexist flyers en masse. The principal responded the following day with an apology, and let everyone know there would be no dress code in place. (BuzzFeed)
