How do kids feel about the news? According to a new Common Sense Media study, seven in ten 10-18-year-olds feel smarter when they are informed, but 63% find the content they see in the news as disturbing, making them feel afraid and angry. They also feel unrepresented: only 42% feel news media covers the issues that matter to them, and when the news does cover those issues or children in general, 69% feel misrepresented. Social media also turned out being their top choice as a source of news, followed closely by family, teachers, and friends. (Kidscreen)
