Facebook is taking the Snapchat formula to their chat app. Now located at the top of Facebook Messenger, Messenger Day aims to encourage more engagement and offline hangouts between users by allowing them to post images and videos with “Who’s up for?” filters that last for 24 hours. Unlike Snapchat’s filters which are utilized for retelling stories, Facebook says their filters are “about today,” and focus on planning because that is “one of the core capabilities of a messaging app.” (TechCrunch)
