Diamond retailer James Allen reports that 41% of married 25-34-year-olds would have liked it if their partners had proposed on Valentine’s, more than older respondents. This could be because engagements have become more of a production for the generation: they were also more likely to say their own had involved flowers (34%), that they had family (26%) or friends (19%) present, or that they or their partner proposed in public.
