In the era of live-streaming, Facebook is “emerging as a leader.” According to a June 2016 survey by UBS Evidence Lab, 21% of internet users who watched live streaming video said they watched on YouTube, compared to 14% who say they watched on Facebook Live. However, in their latest November 2016 survey, Facebook Live’s percentage increased to 17%, while YouTube scaled back to 16%. As one analyst points out, YouTube’s decline may be due to respondents’ confusion over the site’s archived video over live, but the results still show how “Facebook's investments in live video are paying off.” (eMarketer)
