In our Binge Effect trend, we found that the content young viewers are binging most is previous seasons of a current TV show, and suggested that TV series may need a few seasons to show their real potential—and now we’re seeing networks delay cancellations to give series more time to find an audience. Currently none of the 20 new series on the prime-time schedule for 2016-17 have been axed, despite low audience ratings for some. Instead, networks are trimming down episode orders for “dead shows walking,” and the CW is actually putting two of its new shows on Netflix in hopes of gaining viewers. (Ad Age)
