This Christmas and New Year, restaurants may want to consider staying open to cater to Millennials’ dining habits. According to CAKE, independent restaurants that were open on Christmas and New Year’s Day last year saw increased profits by 40-50% compared to average days, and young consumers may be behind the growth. Bank of America data reveals that 18-34-year-olds spent 6% more at restaurants on Christmas Eve from 2014-2015, surpassing the increase in diners in all other age groups, and 4% more than the previous year on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
