The biggest video and music streaming service in the world is having trouble getting users to pay up. It has been less than a year since YouTube launched its paid subscription service YouTube Red, and according to multiple sources they’ve acquired only 1.5 million paying subscribers, indicating they have “a long way to go” to compete with the likes of Netflix and Hulu. However, the service is “outpacing the growth of video competitors like CBS All Access and Sling TV,” and according to YouTube is “seeing healthy growth of members each month.” (The Verge)
