VR is creating a whole new way to watch sports. In collaboration with Virtually Live, Formula E has released four VR highlight packages of their best races this season. Through the HTC Vive experience, viewers can choose to follow the race via different camera angles that vary from any car on the track, the pit lane, and the VIP club. There is also “guided mode” which “automatically move[s] you to…a car that’s about to make a pass for the lead, or one that’s about to crash, or back to the VIP club to watch the real video feed of the race for a moment while you catch your breath.” Formula E hopes to offer live broadcasts of races through VR in the near future.
