Anonymous compliments may be the boost of confidence teens need as they navigate social media.

Sep 20 2016

Anonymous compliments may be the boost of confidence teens need as they navigate social media. In 2015, a Pew report found that 21% of teens feel worse about themselves after using social media, and our Play Nice trend revealed that 90% of 13-33-year-olds wish that people were more positive on social media. The Facebook page Greenwich Compliments was “created to create a counterbalance to the negative impact social media can have on young people,” and prompts followers to post anonymous compliments about other residents of the town in Connecticut.  The founder has also reportedly become a “sounding board in town for teens seeking someone safe to speak with.” (The Atlantic)
