DC Entertainment’s recent relaunch of its superhero universe has “re-energized” sales of actual comics. The Rebirth line “has sold 12 million physical issues in its first three months alone” and its highest sellers includes Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn, which sold 400,000 copies of its first issue. A previous relaunch in 2011 was credited for reviving the comic book industry, but was criticized for removing “all existing mythology and continuity.” The new series made sure to take into account fan communities’ feedback, and the responses has reportedly been, “nothing short of incredible.” (Los Angeles Times)
