Back-to-school shopping will reportedly be bigger than ever this year, and it won’t be all be done online. According to the National Retail Federation, total back-to-school spending—which has increased 55% over the past decade—is set to reach $27 billion for 2016, with an estimated average spend per household of $674. About 46% of consumers plan to go online to shop, but discount stores are expected to be the retailers to bring in the most consumers, with six in ten families planning to shop there, followed by department stores and clothing stores.
